Adult Classes Summer Showcase

Worcester Theatres Adult theatre, Butoh & Musical Theatre Classes present their summer showcase!

Worcester Theatres is privileged to have 3 diverse classes filled with a range of skills and talents. These classes meet weekly, developing their knowledge and their skills now, the Adult Summer Showcase will be their chance to unveil their tremendous talents on the Swan Theatre Main stage.  

Join us for three amazing performances presented by our Butoh, Adult Theatre & Musical Theatre classes.

Butoh Dance Class

"The Company of Shadows, which has grown out of Worcester Theatres’ regular Butoh class, presents a performance that explores timeless themes of struggle and decay. Butoh originated in Japan in the post war period as a reaction against American occupation, but also against strict Japanese performance traditions. It is now an international form of movement theatre that uses poetic images to inspire movement. Butoh embraces both the sublime and the grotesque. This performance features choreography by group leader Daniel Somerville adapted from original choreography by one of Butoh’s founders, Tatsumi Hijikata."

Adult Drama Class

"The Adult Class has been working diligently to hone their skills and understand the mind of an actor. With these polished skills they now present 'Blind Date Inc 2' - A series of eccentric couples meet for the first time, introduced by Blind Date Inc. Will their hearts skip a beat or will they be skipping out on dessert?"

Musical Theatre Class

"We are thrilled to present our Musical Theatre end of year Showcase. Since our inception in February we have explored a range of styles and techniques which have filled our participants with confidence and zeal! We are now ready to take the stage and present our lively performance full of popular favourites and show stopping musical moments."
