About Worcester Theatres

Worcester Theatres

Worcester Theatres is a registered charity, and is the main arts provider in Worcester, operating at Huntingdon Hall and the Swan Theatre. The organisation also has a producing arm in the form of the Swan Theatre’s resident professional theatre company, the Worcester Repertory Company, which annually produces: the outdoor Worcester Rep at the Commandery, the hugely popular Swan Theatre pantomime, popular classics and new writing along with touring shows nationally.

Worcester Theatres relies significantly on charitable donations to support our operation, including arts grants, funding from our city council, donations from trusts and foundations and other organisations. This together with legacies, fundraising events and our patron’s continued support ensure our operation.

Worcester Theatres is proud to have Vamos Theatre as the resident theatre company at the Swan Theatre.

Worcester Theatres is also delighted to be working closely with the University of Worcester.

Outreach and Participation work in our Community

The Swan Theatre is central to our developing outreach and participation work and we are delighted to be home to over 18 community groups who are based with us.

We have many opportunities for you to get involved and get creative including the award-winning Youth Theatre groups that run throughout the year (in term time) for children from ages 5-18. Worcester Theatres also runs dance classes, baby book clubs, artist socials and relaxation sessions plus many more ways to get creative.

Most recently we have been developing ways to support the local emerging artists in the community through Platform WR1 and we look forward to continuing this vital work to retain local emerging talent for the city.

We are also thrilled to support our creative community by having so many fabulous groups running from the Swan Theatre, including Happy Steps, Jungle Jiggle, Entw9 Dance and  Art the Swan.

We also enjoy being an important part of the amateur community in Worcester and support the work of all those societies who regularly use the Swan Theatre.
