Swan Theatre
Thu 3 July - 1pm-3pm - FREE TO ATTEND
Derek Eynon, born in Birmingham 1957, took up guitar and bass whilst still a member of The Solihull Youth Choir. He formed his first band “Stuka” who debuted to the public, in Solihull, on Jubilee day in 1977, and Derek Eynon has rarely stopped gigging since. Derek was and is bass player with “Birmingham’s Premier Folk Rock Act” Red Shoes from 1983 to 1989, 1994-1996, 2000-2001 and then from 2019 to the present. Aside from Red Shoes and a roster of other bands, Derek has been playing hundreds of solo gigs since 2005, appearing at over fifty different venues in the Midlands: pubs, clubs, concert halls and restaurants. With a set which boasts “everything from Abba to ZZ Top” (Sutton Coldfield Advertiser) he has been described by The Artrix Bromsgrove as having “a voice like velvet and diamonds”.
Our bar will be able to provide drinks and snacks so you can treat yourself to a coffee and a cake as you sit back and enjoy this cultural offering. Culture Cafe events are completely FREE to attend and go a long way to support both local artists and the theatre.
Every first Thursday of the month, between 1pm - 3pm, a performer will join us in the Swan Theatre bar area, so why not come and experience great local art, music and performance for FREE!
