WT Performance Hub Students Bring Award-Winning Thriller Concord Floral to Swan Studio

Worcester Theatres' Performance Hub students will bring Jordan Tannahill's award-winning supernatural thriller Concord Floral to the Swan Studio this June, marking the culmination of their first year on the theatre's BTEC Performing Arts programme. WT Performance Hub is a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts that offers students aged 16–19 practical training across drama, dance, music, and musical theatre at the Swan Theatre.
Described by NOW Toronto as ‘an ensemble choral piece that packs a theatrical and emotional punch’, Concord Floral promises to be a thought-provoking and inspiring production for audiences in Worcester. The show combines storytelling, comedy, and tension that follows a group of teenagers who discover a traumatic scene in their local hangout space called Concord Floral. Written by acclaimed Canadian playwright Jordan Tannahill, Concord Floral won the 2015 Dora Award for Outstanding New Play and the Carol Bolt Award, and was shortlisted for the 2016 Governor General's Award for Drama.
Concord Floral is a one-million-square-foot abandoned greenhouse and a refuge for neighbourhood kids; a place all to themselves in which to dream, dare, and come of age. But hidden there is a secret no one wants to confront, and when two friends stumble upon it they set off an unstoppable chain of events, from shadows in parking lots to phone calls from the grave. It's time for the teens of Concord Floral to start talking.
Aaron Corbett, WT Performance Hub Youth Tutor said, “Concord Floral has been a challenging yet rewarding performance. At its heart, Concord Floral is a story about guilt. As a group we have prioritised individual journeys, objectives, and secrets of the characters. We wanted to strip back the layers of the characters and bring out the raw, visceral energy of these teenagers. It’s a complex look at the human relationships, what we share and what we push to the back of our memories. Our learners have created a tense, intimate and profound performance. We are extremely excited to bring it to life.”
Concord Floral by Jordan Tannahill is on Monday 22 – Wednesday 24 June 2026 at 7.45pm at the Swan Studio, with tickets priced at £7.00 each. The age guidance for this production is suitable for ages 15 and above.
