Worcester Theatres Performance Hub Students Return to the Swan Theatre

15 October 2026

In September, Worcester Theatres Performance Hub students returned to the Swan Theatre with second-year students beginning the final year of their BTEC studies, and a new cohort of first-year students starting their journey in the performing arts.

Worcester Theatres is one of the few professional theatres in the UK to be offering a fully accredited BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts by VLUK. Students have the opportunity to develop practical and academic skills in the performing arts, alongside gaining valuable industry experience from industry professionals, with exclusive access to the Swan Theatre facilities, and Worcester Repertory Company production creative teams.

Students can personalise their education experience with 13 modules to choose such as ‘Performing Arts in the Community’, ‘Skills and Techniques for Live Performance’, ‘Theatre Directing’ and many more. Once students have completed the BTEC course they will have the knowledge and skills to further progress into higher education, or straight into employment in the performing arts sector. The Worcester Theatres Performance Hub BTEC is equivalent to three A-Levels and worth up to 168 UCAS points.

In November, the BTEC students will present their first joint showcase, Bless This Mess, at Huntingdon Hall on Tuesday 24 November. The performance will give students the opportunity to showcase their talents and skills in a professional theatre setting, performing in front of a live audience.

Aaron Corbett, WT Performance Hub – Performing Arts Tutor said, “This year, we have welcomed seven new students, each bringing their own personalities, goals and creativity. They’ve brought a brand-new energy to our venue, and our second years have welcomed them with open arms.

Although we now have two different year groups, we see them as one big creative force. This will be on show in their first public performance, Bless This Mess — a showcase featuring both first and second years that will show off their talents and skills. The performance will take place on Tuesday 24 November at Huntingdon Hall.

I’m always in awe of what the students create. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch their confidence, creativity and skills develop, and I can’t wait to see what they achieve next.”

WT Performance Hub auditions for 2027/28 entry will take place at 10am on Saturday 7 November, and will follow a two-stage process: an individual monologue audition with questions on the chosen piece, followed by a group workshop audition.
