Worcester Theatres break Box Office records for annual pantomime, Cinderella!
3 January 2023
After such an incredibly well-received run, Worcester Theatres are thrilled to reveal that Cinderella has set new Box Office records, for audience attendance and sales!
Over the Worcester Repertory Company’s run of Cinderella, the Swan Theatre welcomed 17,500 audience members through their doors, an impressive 80% capacity for their 5-week run. This is a staggering 10% increase from last year’s pantomime, Beauty and the Beast.
Worcester Theatres had more schools attend Cinderella than any of their pantomimes in previous years and were delighted to see more large groups and organisations join as well.
Cinderella received rave reviews and incredible reactions from their audiences, many saying it was ‘the best panto ever!’ and how they ‘loved every second of it’.
When asked about Cinderella’s success, Chief Executive and Artistic Director, Sarah-Jane Morgan said
“Pantomime is a year-long project for the team here at Worcester Theatres and is a huge production to plan and produce for the Worcester Rep. To have seen our audiences increase at the amount it has this year is just amazing and I am absolutely thrilled! It is truly a testament to the consistently high quality, family-friendly pantomime that we present and to our patron’s desire to put a feel-good pantomime like ours at the heart of their Christmas celebrations. Thank you to everyone who attended this year, as it really does make an incredible difference to our small theatre organisation. We certainly hope to see you all again next year for Jack and the Beanstalk!”.
Worcester Theatres are thankful to everyone who has been involved throughout the production and their audiences, without whom this record-breaking pantomime would not have been possible.
The Worcester Rep are hoping to make next year’s pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk an even bigger success; which looks promising as patrons are already booking in advance, excited to return and join in all the FEE-FI-FO-FUN!
