Most Secret – The Story of Defford Airfield – A Talk by Tim Barney

Most of us have heard of Bletchley Park – but from 1942 to the 1980’s, this quiet Worcestershire backwater was one of the most secret places in Britain, and carried out work that was as vital as breaking the enemy’s codes. Taking in an eighteenth century mansion and landscape park, a wartime airfield, and the early story of airborne radar development, this fascinating talk has something for everyone. The story concludes in the present day with an account of the National Trust property at Croome Park and the Defford Airfield Museum, both of which are open to the public.
