Badass Medusa #MeToo

Mobilise (formerly known as Worcester Arts Workshop) in partnership with Worcester Theatres, Arts Council England and Severn Arts present Badass Medusa #MeToo

A bold and brave retelling of Medusa’s story through collective rage, agency and a female gaze for International Women’s Day.

This innovative new work written and directed by Hannah Phillips has been co-created with composer Nik Haley and film maker Nicola Prestage.

Blurring the lines between live and virtual performance using spoken word, new composition, song, film, and immersive technology.

The diverse fierce female identifying collective challenge a misogynistic myth which has silenced and sexualised Medusa whilst intersecting current gender issues and questioning gender injustice women and girls face globally.

The audience will be invited to collectively and digitally rewrite a future utopia offering alternative perspectives of gender, sexuality, race and desire.

Worcester Theatres and Mobilise will be donating £1 of every ticket bought for Badass Medusa #MeToo to West Mercia’s Women’s Aid.

Please note: age restriction is 16 years plus. The show includes frequent strong language, sexual references and references to sexual violence.
